Bringing Nature's Beauty Into Your Life

What's New!?

Join me and other local creatives at the artists' reception 5-7pm this Friday, August 14th at the Center for Creativity, 200 Mathews St., just west of the downtown library.  Light refreshments will be served that evening at this community art show, while normal gallery hours are Wed. - Sun., noon to 6pm and the show runs through Sunday, August 23rd.

I am sharing a piece created with numerous found items plus other acquired ones during a recent Mongolia trip.

Artist Statement

As is often the case regardless of where I am at, I picked up litter - scourge of our Sacred Earth, when I was in Mongolia recently.  Now a days, it is mostly plastic but often there are treasures such as rusty metal, broken glass and other objects waiting for the observant and creative eye to give these items a 2nd life.

This mobile brings back many wonderful and meaningful memories of that trip!

The metal strap and colorful glass were discovered here and there, covering the ground in a in a seemingly mindless manner.

The bells came from the Black Market In Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.  I’d seen the bells adorning many of the Shaman’s deels (traditional robes) during a Fire Ceremony during the summer solstice.

The sacred blue silk fabric was given to me.  It holds profound cultural and symbolic significance in Mongolia, symbolizing the eternal blue sky.  It is often seen in the scarves gracing the ovoos - sacred stone cairns - to honor the sky spirit (Tengri), offering prayers for safe travel and good fortune.

I already had the jute and copper wire on hand.

Pruning Services for Shrubs, Fruit and Small Ornamental Trees

"Robyn and Matt cleaned up our unwieldy shrubs; pruned our delicate, old apple tree; and removed the trimmings. They worked quickly yet carefully; they were friendly, professional and reasonably priced. We highly recommend their services and will call them again."  Maria

"The crab looks so good, Hubby said you are truly an artist!"  Mila

Wild Iris Living offers pruning services to help clients keep their woody plants healthy and beautiful.  Shrubs are generally pruned while dormant in spring, with minor pruning work done throughout the growing season.

Fruit and small ornamnetal trees are best pruned February through March based on their species.  This allows us to see the framework of the trees and make sure the result is a tree that looks as aesthetically pleasing in winter as it does while in leaf.

Or if you feel you are no longer able to maintain your plantings and need to consider simplifying or adapting the lanscape to your current abilities, call us to re-vision your landscape.  It may be that you need to bring fragrance, color and wildlife a bit closer in to the areas you can more easily access.

"If you are in town walk by our garden sometime, everything is in bloom and looks beautiful.  Your design is awesome!  Thanks!" Nancy

"Robyn was fantastic to work with. She listened to what I wanted and then designed a plan to match. I was very pleased with the design on paper, but since I have recently had it installed I am totally thrilled with the results. All I want to do is sit in my garden and enjoy it!  Robin
